Wouldn't the original documents be on weathered papaer that could be tested to determine it's actual age? Same for the ink? This riddle should be very easy to solve.
Anyway, the story breaking everywhere now (talk radio, CBS denials, etc.). IMO this story will breag hard, and forgery will be proven.
