The vertical spacing used in the memos, measured at 13 points, was not available in typewriters, and only became possible with the advent of computers.

I've been away from FR for a while, but that's a new one for me today.....

the 13 point spacing is new to me too. Also, one of the 1973 memos mentions that he was receiving heat from his superior, General Staudt, who retired in 1972.

On another note, what do you think of the superscript in this:

The second line has 111th with the superscript th, and was dated 1968. All the rest have 111th with no superscript. They were obviously written on different typewriters at different times, but it obviously was possible to get a superscript in 1968, as these are official docs.

Here's a link to the doc from the records Bush released. see page 3: http://www.usatoday.com/news/bushdocs/9-Miscellaneous.pdf

If memory serves correct, I believe typewriter "type" was only 12 or 10 (pica and elite).

Blatant forgery. Someone needs to be reprimanded for this. It is sickening that the media is so desperate to elect Kerry they would stoop to this level. I expect that since its now known to be forged, Bush will gain another 2 or 3 points.
