They wanted the memos to be real, so they convinced themselves.

Must have been the higher ups who don't use computers because the first time I saw the documents yesterday morning, I instantly recognized the reduced size superscript "th" from MS Word, because I have pretty much used that program almost every workday for that last 15 years. After a while, you just know.

Someone needs to make a bumper sticker that says:

CBS News
I Rather Doubt It.

Improved fakes, on the way.
The Kerry campaign bought a typewriter.

And the font needs to be Times New Roman.

What's this "going senile" stuff? I think he's there.

True enough. But he can still talk coherently...sometimes.

JFKs campaign strategy at this point is to attach Bush and obtain revenge for the Swiftees attack. To that end, the Rats were counting on the MSM to carry the ball. The MSM may be obsessed with getting JFK elected but their own sense of self-preservation kicked in when the forged documents were offered up. CBS fell for it and the rest of the MSM waited and watched. After the forgeries were first outed by Freepers the MSM saw which way the wind was blowing and jumped at the chance to embarrass CBS. The MSMs competitiveness will keep the forgeries an issue for a few more news cycles before it disappears. The Rats will quietly drop a few people and tweak their game plan. Just politics my friends, just politics.

This will soften the effect of the Today show interviews next week. That's what I'm really happy about. This gossip book is too low to even refute, so the timing of Rather-gate is absolutely purrrr-fect.

15 years ago this hoax would have flown on gilded wings, reported by all the MSM. There might have been a couple of dissenters who examined the documents and suggested they were fraudulent, but the MSM wouldn't have given them any air time to voice their findings.

Thank God, and Algore for the Internet!

Personally, I think that the Klinton Klan gave the documents, purposely pitifully forged, to the Kerry campaign, knowing it would be discovered, with the intent of torpedoing the Kerry campaign. After all, if by some slim chance Kerry would win, Hillary would probably never get a chance to run for Pres and Bill wouldn't be able to make use of the White House cigar humidor...you know the one...where you lift up the dress and the premoistened cigar pops out.

One person had to generate these documents. Who was it?

Let's see if the story has legs. Will anyone even mention it during the Sunday talk shows?

I held my nose and watched a half hour of CNN this morning. No mention of it.

"I am wondering if it was one of the Clintonistas that just joined the Kerry Kamp that did this. "

I'm glad someone other than my tinfoil-hat-wearing self thinks this. It's just too stupid of a mistake for the sKerry campaign to make - it ahs to be an "inside job" and the timing is very suspicious.

Tinfoil hat OFF now...
