Some caution is in order as I have not yet been able to confirm that Hodges was an engineer. That said, there are no contributions by Texans named Robert Hodges to the GOP. There are contributions by a number of Robert Hodges in Texas to Kerry and Dean.

CBS absolutely refuses to divulge the names of their so-called document authentication experts. Don't hold your breath.

I am beginning to form the opinion that we here at FreeRepublic should start a grass-roots movement to demand that the FEC (Federal Elections Commission) subpoena CBS and do an investigation into Fraud and Federal Elections Tampering. What is becoming clear is that a fraudulent attempt to affect the elections has occurred and should be investigated and prosecuted if it is proven.

Try "Bobby" - it's common southern practice to use this as actual first name.
According to the WaPost the source is "retired Maj. Gen. Bobby W. Hodges, the immediate superior of the documents' alleged author, Lt. Col. Jerry B. Killian"
