College student makes court appearance on voter fraud charge

APPLETON, Wis. - A college student accused of voting twice in the spring election has been released on a $1,000 signature bond after making his initial court appearance in the case.
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student Michael R. Howard, 20, of Appleton, appeared Thursday in Outagamie County Circuit Court with his attorney, Daniel Clausz.
Howard answered "yes" when Court Commissioner Brian Figy asked him if it was OK to schedule a preliminary hearing later than the 20 days generally required. Figy did not immediately set a date for the hearing.
The felony charge carries a maximum penalty of 42 months in prison and extended supervision, plus a $10,000 fine.
The criminal complaint contends Howard voted in the April 6 election with an Appleton absentee ballot and again in person in Eau Claire.
He allegedly told investigators he was unaware of the fact that he could not vote twice in the same election.
Well, I guess it's a start, but this is widespread enough in Wisconsin, based on what I was told by college students in 2000 and what I observed personally in 2002.
Any wanna bet that he is NOT a democrat...
he was unaware of the fact that he could not vote twice in the same election.
Anyone want to venture a guess as to where his political ideology lies?
Sounds like a public college Poly Sci major.....fer shur....
Uh huh. Well, I guess after a felony conviction he won't be voting ever again. Until he's dead, that is.
I want to Email the Court and advise them to throw away the key but I cant find the Email addy.
I guess he wasn't there the day God passed out brains.
This is AP. If he were a Republican it would have been stamped throughout the article and in the lede.

Wanna bet that he was NOT home schooled....
we are going to be catching a whole lot more of these cheaters. behind the scenes, steps have been taken to catch people who vote more than once and this time they are going to be FEDERALLY PROSECUTED. The days of Dumb-o-Rats voting multiple times are going to be ended by computer technology. Also, no more dead people voting (like when the mafia stole the election for JFK), and no more pets voting etc. Democrats will soon be very nostalgic for the "good old days"!
Wanna bet the protest folk in NYC won't be voting as often as they can?
I wish that with obvious fraud - 100% or more registered voter turnout (as in Phila) - the whole precinct's votes would be thrown out.
Just make proof of ID mandatory to vote .... no ID ... no vote
I agree, ID seems like the way to go.
Here in Wisconsin, the Ethnic Fests also have voter registration. Gee I wonder whom their targeting.
You labor under the misinformation that there are no leftists who HS?
What percentage of our soldiers in Iraq do you think were HSed? 1%, 0.1%, 0.01%?
Please Pass Emergency Anti-Vote Fraud Measure Immediately!
Vote fraud threatens the very core of our republic, and it directly threatens our sovereignty
Please send the following message to your Congressmen and Senators:
Please pass, on an expedited basis, emergency legislation to require voters to show ID at all polling places on Election Day.
Vote fraud threatens the very core of our republic, and it directly threatens our sovereignty. There is a significant amount of evidence emerging that evinces a wide-spread plot to engage in massive voter fraud. Thus, Congress must take immediate action to counter this potential menace.
Congress has the express power to dictate the time, place, and manner in which federal elections are held. The congressional power to make or alter time, place, or manner of federal elections extends to the regulation of voter registration. Federal regulation of the electoral processes, including the regulation of federal voter registration, is also consistent with the Tenth Amendment and permissible; although states do have broad discretion to enact and implement registration procedures, states may not transgress the Constitution. It follows that state voter registration and Election Day statutes that are inconsistent with federal voter registration and Election Day mandates are preempted.
As per the Federal Court in Byrd v. Brice, the government may require a voter to furnish proof of identity at the polling place on Election Day. Such a measure would go a long way in protecting citizens federal voting rights from fraudulent practices.
Please set to work immediately on enacting emergency legislation to require a valid ID at the polling places on Election Day.
Are you under the impression that the RATS in Congress will not prevent such a vote from occurring? There is no time for such a laudible action even if they would.
