I hope you folks don't mind me posting this. Unlike the alphabet soup networks. If it were me I would keep playing and reminding people of 911 all the time. Things would be quite different if people were reminded all the time.

I hope that you enjoy it.

Please remeber to participate in your local March Against Terror tomorrow.

It's already started here... I was out shopping just before, pulled into my driveway and the radio station I was listening to were doing the midday news news (basically all terrorism bombings, all the time, these days.) They ended with a sound montage of "that day" three years ago and I was sobbing inconsolably by the end of it.

Because of the time difference, I and the rest of Australia get to remember... twice.

Now where did I put my vodka and cigarettes? I shall need both, if I'm not to be crying like a baby all weekend (which I suspect I shall be, self-medication and all....)

Is it just me... or do these anniversaries get harder???

Thank you for posting this.

Never forget.

I was working in one of the remote offices from head office on the day of Sept. 11. I had just hit deadline at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday (here in Ireland), and before grabbing a spot of lunch logged onto Townhall.com (and their chat facility) for a few minutes and saw someone on there mention the attacks.

I couldn't get onto the news networks.
I phoned my editor in our newsroom to see if he'd heard anything.
He said no, he'd call me back.

He did within minutes.

A friend of mine, who had just sung the lead in Riverdance in the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway was home. I called him. He said to me: ''Anne Marie, I'm watching this on tv..some of my friends are in there'.

I got in the car and went to his house.

We watched in disbelief. We were an ocean away, but right there in heart.
I watched Michael try to make repeated calls to NY to see if his friends were ok.

Some of us went out later that night, and sat in a bar silently watching news reels of the day.
Shocked, horrified.

Cacique, please believe me when I say that day - and the implications of that day - will never leave our memories.
I think of that time often.

My mother had died only weeks previous to that time, and the grief of those families who lost loved ones seemed magnified. My own recent personal sense of loss was miniscule.

I love New York City.
From the first time I visited it, I loved it.
And I always will.

Saturday September 11th, is the third anniversary of that horrible day that started as a beautiful summer day.

Though 3,000 of us were murdered, ALL AMERICANS were attacked.

Everyone. White. Black. Asian. Hispanic. Native American. European. Jew. Baptist. Catholic. Buddhist. Mexican. Puerto Rican. New Yorker. Washingtonian. Yankee. Southerner. Everyone.

All America was attacked that day.

These hate filled people who committed these heinous acts want to kill all Americans.

STILL.

NEVER forget. NEVER again.

CONCENTRATE ON TODAY'S DATE

It's been said well, "If you have to look at the calendar, concentrate
on today's date." It doesn't hurt to look back occasionally and learn
lessons from the past. And we should also look ahead and prepare for
the future. But mostly...it is a good idea to give today the best
we've got.

Actor Sylvester Stallone once said of his acting success, "It's been a
lovely ride - I just wish I'd been there to enjoy it." Have you ever
felt that way? That life has been good - even great - but you weren't
really there to enjoy it? He went on to say, "It's been like a blur -
like trying to sightsee through a quaint New England town at three
hundred miles an hour. I'd like to retrace my steps in the snow and
see what I missed. I mean, I've been to Europe ten times in the past
ten years, but I can't remember anything. If I didn't have some of the
door keys that I took by accident, I wouldn't remember where I stayed.
My whole life is door keys."

Have you ever felt like your life is.car keys? Office keys? Keyboard
keys? A blur?

Older people used to tell us when we were young parents to "enjoy
these years." "They go by faster than you realize," these friends
would say. And most of the time I'd think, 'They can't go by soon
enough!'

I've always loved my children, and I am forever grateful I am a
parent. But some days I couldn't wait for them to grow up.

I remember long nights - long nights when babies were up because they
couldn't sleep, or didn't feel well or just decided to use that extra
time to exercise their lungs. I remember long nights - long nights
lying awake waiting for teenagers to come home.listening for the car
engine so I knew they were all right. And if someone would tell me to
enjoy those years, I'd shake my head and think, 'I'll enjoy it when
they grow up. I'll enjoy getting my life back!'

But then the boys did grow up and they left home. And do you know
what? Our friends were right. Those years went by faster than I
expected. They seem like a blur now.and I wonder if I enjoyed them
fully.

Thomas Mann said, "Hold every moment sacred... Give each its true and
due fulfillment." For these moments, I'm learning, are all we really
have.

Next time I look at the calendar, I'll concentrate on today's date.

Because of SEP11 I am now a Paid Call Fire Fighter. I have gone through a fire academy and currently going through EMT training. I have an MBA, I don't have to do this... I want to do something of a higher order... and I haven't had so much pleasure or pride in what I do in all my life...

Thank you for posting this beautiful tribute.
It is important that these sounds and images be seen by all Americans, again and again. Indeed, the whole world should view it.

The great beams of light were on again tonight, illuminating a clear September night sky. People were standing around and staring, their eyes wide, their mouths open, standing in awe and remembering. Neighborhood people and people from all over the world had come to pay silent tribute.

Tomorrow morning will be another splendid September morning, just like September 11,2001. The world has been changed forever.

For those who delude themselves into believing we still live in a September 10th world, I ask them to watch your video and give it some thought.
