"Why would someone type a memo to himself and then add his own signature to it?"

Memo to myself: Next time I type a memo to myself, I won't sign my own memo to myself. It might raise suspicions that I didn't really type a memo to myself.

Definitely a Dilbert moment!

Another question: If, as CBS says, these came from "personal files", wouldn't they be the property of his family?

The family should hold a press conference denouncing the memos and scalding the person who released them to CBS without informing the family.

More importantly, at that press conference they should demand that CBS release the documents for scrutiny by outside experts at other news organizations. CBS owes them that much...and the American people would agree with the family.
