The swift vets gave a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on May 4, 2004.

The room was packed! 16 or 17 men spoke into the microphone about their personal reason why John Kerry was not fit to be CIC.

The almost total lack of coverage of that event caused John O'Neill to write his book.

I don't think that's true--not only did I see coverage, but the book couldn't have been written and published in such a short span of time. I'm not denying you heard this, but as a writer I don't buy it.

Off subject, but did anyone hear Marie Batoroloma????? (financial guru) on the Chris Matthews show, when asked to tell Chris something he didn't know, predict a 10 to 12 percent win for Pres. Bush in Nov.?

Maria Bartiromo (the Money Honey) is a hotty, but she's several cans short of a six pack. That said, I'll take her prediction.

When Kathie Lee left "Regis and Kathie", Regis auditioned a number of women. Maria was one of them. Her appearance was a total disaster. Big Time.

Forgot to mention, same show, Cokie Roberts, when asked the same tell me something I don't know, question told Chris to watch the white Catholic vote to which Chris replied, " you mean we are all going to be Republicans?" and Cokie said yes!!!!!!!! What a surprise coming from her as she had spent nearly the whole program inventing scenarios in which Kerry could possibly pull it off.

I can't get the idea of veterans coming home to people not wanting to even sit near them, or ignoring them, or shouting at them, and how that effected their lives and psychological states out of my mind--I always juxtapose those images with those of Kerry hanging out in Nantuckett or the island (Kerry's Forbes side of the family OWNS an island, btw)or windsurfing or eating in fine restaurants with his two wives's money. I'm not a vet, I'm just a citizen, and I can't erase those conflicting images. I can't even begin to imagine what a Vietnam vet thinks about when they see that *******.

My ex-husband was a marine in Vietnam. He really wouldn't talk about it too much, but one night he cried and cried while telling me that his own parents wouldn't pick him up from the airport when he got back. He said they were ashamed and embarrassed because they thought he had done all the things that had been reported on the news. All he wanted to do was come home and be with his family. It's just not right.

I know how frustrating that must be. But don't give up. My daughter used to be like that. She is now very conservative & wants to volunteer at the Crisis Pregnancy Center. She would come home from school believing everything the teachers said. I told her just because a teacher says something, doesn't make it true. Question everything.

How sad is it that we have to tell our kids that they can't always believe their teachers? Your son just may be testing you. He's probably trying to act grown up & independent. I'm sure deep down, he respects your beliefs.

Just got back home (New Hampshire) from the rally. It was awesome! I hope C-Span captured the vocal responses of the crowd to the outstanding speakers - you'd miss a lot if you couldn't hear the crowd. There were lots of great homemade signs, too.
Didn't see any MSM reporters/cameras, just a local Fox (channel 5) reporter. Lots of still photogs near the stage, but not clear if they were MSM. Anything on the network news tonite? Wonder if anything will show up in the news mags.

Isn't it funny how the libs, who are incessantly (and rightly, of course) talking about how war is awful and it's not Rambo time and playing down the heroism involved...have chosen a candidate who yaps on and on about his service.

Somehow I don't think your ex would be doing that, or anyone else who's seen the real fighting. How traumatized could Kerry be if he never shuts up about what he did over there?

My wife, aunt, uncle, cousin, and I made it to the rally today. We got there a little late, but still had a good time. The one thing I'll probably remember more than anything though is when we were walking back to the van. There was a group of about 10 people (from the rally) getting ready to cross the street. Some guy goes by, honks, and flips us off. He had a Kerry bumper sticker on his car. What a jerk, but what would you expect?

C-Span did a great job. They captured a lot of the signs and some of the crowd was audible. The "Vets for Truth" rally was awe inspiring and hit home how honorable the Vietnam veterans fought the war and it showed how people like John Kerry helped us lose the war by strengtening the North Korean resolve and losing our political will with his testimony in 1971. God bless you veterans! Thank you for your sacrifice!

Note: C-Span had a group on called "Veterans for Kerry" after the rally and it was pathetic. They had no crowd and it was in a conference room. They had 4 people that spoke and one was on the Kerry campaign and the other was a Clinton appointee. They would have been better off not having their meeting. They just hurt Kerry even more, if that's possible.

How sad is it that we have to tell our kids that they can't always believe their teachers?

My daughter is a teacher, and I like to call her "a little to the right of Rush". I also have a niece and two nephews who are Conservative teachers. The difference between Conservative and Liberal teachers is (as a rule), the Conservative ones play fair, and do not bring their politics to the classroom. But believe me, they are out there.

That said, I would urge any parent who's teacher espouses their political views on them to contact their local school board and lodge a complaint.
