I thought it expires on Monday at midnight, i.e. Sept. 13 midnight, and it has 24 hrs more to go.

OH NO! Now I'm scared to go out of my house! Don't you fools realize that ban was the only thing preventing the mass slaughter of innocents? Why, the only thing that kept criminals from engaging in violent acts with such weapons was the knowledge that the were banned! Now they will have no such restraint! They'll be free to kill and maim with a clear conscience! Oh, the humanity!

FROM BATF............

Semiautomatic Assault Weapon Update

By statute, the prohibitions relating to semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices expired on September 13, 2004. As a result, certain sections of the Gun Control Act, 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, and its implementing regulations, 27 CFR Part 478, are no longer in effect.

I believed it was tomorrow at midnight too...... guess it's time to bunker up for their counter attack. They'll come for em all next.

Stay safe !

I looked again and now I found some articles, which said it does indeed expire Sun, so it expired.

BUT California has its own separate ban, which does NOT expire.

"The end of the federal prohibition will not affect California's assault weapons ban, which is broader and has no expiration date. "
