RE: Attempted Bush Smear Job on Sixty Minutes II

Dear Mr. Heyward:

Now that your CBS News division has elected to allow Mr. Rather to take the approach that the story was correct and that you are standing by it, you have essentially allowed him to “double the bet” while continuing to hold a losing hand.

Without strong leadership from someone at the top, like you, to remove Mr. Rather from his position, your network is going to lose every bit of credibility that you worked for half a century to build up.

Is one man’s maniacal obsession to bring down a sitting President, no matter the cost, worth the reputation of your entire network news division?

The sooner you act, the less the damage which is already substantial. Draft the letter and fire this discredited partisan “journalist”.

Sincerely,

Rob XXXXX

Rob, do you mind if I send this post to my local talk show here in Augusta? That would be Austin Rhodes of WGAC 580 AM.
