To: Ol' Dan Tucker

What I don't understand is why Bush campaigned the first time with a promise to privatize our Social Security --- and instead is now talking about adding in a whole country to it --- when their own plan is failing. How do you tell Americans they will have to work well into their 70's when Mexico's Social Security program allows for retirement in the early 50's and they will only have to claim they worked here 18 months on a stolen Social Security card.

And tell the Mexicans they will have to change their laws so they must work until the same age as Americans and they'll protest and shut down their country. With a 70% unionization rate --- there is no way they would take being told that.
