Let me give an example. The other night there was a post about a Canton Ohio newspaper spreading the retracted story about the booing that went on at a Bush Rally when the President asked for prayers for former President Clinton. I wrote the editors and the reporter directly including the audio link. The reporter responded today and said she would correct it.

A small but significant step.

I was listening to Tony Snow's show today, and a caller had some info about this. Everytime you call them on a gaff...it strikes at the so called truthfulness of the networks. They are not about telling the truth no matter what and doing whatever it takes to get it. They have become about creating the news and calling it the truth. I remember Cronkite saying once "We will report all the news we think you should have."
