As a baby boomer (born 1954), I call us the "worthless" generation. We're spoiled brats!

Too bad you didn't get to watch "Vietnam Veterans for Truth" on C-Span this past weekend. Maybe some "Baby Boomers" are spoiled brats but most of us did what Americans of every generation have done.

Does that include FReepers who provided for their retirement, never stole anything, and paid all their taxes?

Careful. I got threats the last time I posted something to that effect.

Exactimundo, Cricket. I was born in '54 as well and have, as I've gotten older, bemoaned the awful legacy our self-absorbed, narcissitic, unborn children-killing generation has left behind. When you put us side by side in comparison to our fathers' and mothers' generation, we come off about as badly as one could get. Historians of the future WILL NOT BE KIND TO US.

Clinton and Kerry are unfortuately poster children for the failings of the Boomer generation. Spoiled, entitled, lazy, irresponsible, and arrogant are just a few of the characteristics we'll be justifiably painted with. And the fact that the preceding generation sacrificed so much to provide our generation with an unparalleled level of affluence and opportunity only to see many of us turn out to be terrible stewards of our country.

Those of us who have matured and learned over time and realized our generation's failings can only try to do as much as we can to correct the wrongs and maybe, just maybe at least rehabilitate some of our legacy.

Speak for yourself. I started work at 16 and then joined the Navy to get college money. What are these pansy little X'ers whining about anyway.

I thought we were the "beautiful people" you know peace love and flowers?

Unfortunately most of my baby boomer druggie friends are dead, institutionalized or living NOTHING lives.

I overdosed several times and overcame several addictions (born in 1954 also) and I feel fortunate to be alive and doing well today!
