'Gay Day' at Six Flags protested
Group to picket outside theme park, urge families to boycott

© 2004 WorldNetDaily.com One day after controversy erupted over a "Muslims-only" day planned for a New Jersey Six Flags theme park this week, a Texas Six Flags amusement park is coming under fire for its planned "Gay Day."
Organizers of ProtestGayDay.com say they're following their yearly tradition of protesting the unofficial "Gay Day" at the theme park this Saturday.
Like they did last year, pro-family Texans will gather at the entrance of the park with signs to let patrons know that thousands of homosexuals will descend on Six Flags that day.
Organizer Rick Warden says families that might not know about the homosexuals' plans could unknowingly come to the park Saturday and "realize that they are waiting in line for one hour at a time with flamboyant homosexuals embracing one another and kissing."
According to Warden's site, "Gay Day" is promoted in Texas homosexual publications. Though Six Flags says it is not a sanctioned event, Warden believes the park management still should take action to stop it.
"Six Flags Over Texas is willingly allowing families and children to be exposed to homosexual activities without giving them any warning," he says. According to Warden, during last year's protest, 400 cars turned around and refused to go into Six Flags after learning about "Gay Day."
The protest is planned for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

They'll have to burn the Tunnel of Love to the ground the next day if they have any sense....

I'd much rather leave the gay community alone. They can go have "gay day" at a park, as long as they aren't trying to draw in the kids, I really don't care.
I think giving them too much attention encourages them to flaunt themselves more.

I thought it said "Gun Day"
It's obviously past my bedtime..I thought maybe Texans were going to have a special day at six flags celebrating the expiration of the AWB.
To: sockmonkey
The AWB expiration is indeed cause for much gaity (in the proper use of the word).

How about a "Muslims Killing Gays Day?" That would take care of both groups and it would give the Muslims a chance to get in touch with their Koran/Hadiths.
The wussies in Saudi Arabia only decapitate homosexuals. The lightweights in Egypt only arrest them. In the Palestinian Authority, they are properly tortured.
(if you can't tell, this is all really thick sarcasm)

Is it true that they wheel a fudge stand adjacent to the Tunnel of Love on "Gay Day"?

Muslim Day and Gay Day should be on the same day. Now THAT would draw a crowd.

Muslim Day was to be an exclusively muslim day (the first such exception in the history of Six Flags parks).
Gay Day is open to the public (in fact, little is done to warn the general population). Average families arrive to find homosexuality being shoved in their faces plus there is the children factor.
If Gay Day were held the day before Muslim Day, would the muslims still attend? Seeing as how they have cleanliness rules about everything (farting and periods will invalidate your prayers), I can't see this as being "pure".

My family and I went to Six Flags in Arlington, Texas today- not knowing that today was “Gay Day”. I am very disappointed in Six Flags for NOT posting this on their website. Had we known, we would NOT have come to the park toady! I don't have a problem with gays coming to the park, but I prefer my young children to not be subjected to some of the behavior we witnessed today.
