Produce the original documents, let several experts examen them and let the chips fall where they may. But they refuse to do that and that calls their crediblity into question.
Looks to me like Rather Et Al have their middle member in a rat trap and can't admit it.
To the best of my knowledge, CBS/Rather have only admitted to possessing copies, not the originals. By now, we all know what the "originals" would look like -- freshly created MS Word docs on 8.5x11 printer paper. Besides, enough is already known about these copies to prove that the "originals" would be forgeries too. In short, the evidence against CBS/Rather is massive, overwhelming and devastatingly conclusive.
CBS will only come clean when the sponsors and affiliates start deserting them in droves, the board starts talking tough and shareholders' lawyers have filed.
