O'Reilly's Blunder Today
Posted on 09/16/2004 9:41:39 PM PDT by ArmedNReady
Today, on the Radio Factor, Bill O'Reilly had just finished telling a caller that he (Bill) had studied everything there was to know about John Kerry and his plans, when the caller asked him why he felt that Kerry would be strong on defense. The called said that Kerry said he would withdraw all of the troops from Iraq in 6 months, then 2 years, then 5 years. To which O'Reilly replied that Kerry never said he would withdraw the troops in 6 months and repeatedly to the caller that he was wrong.

Did anyone else hear these comments? O'Reilly is an idiot.
To: ArmedNReady
Yes, I heard it. Then O'Reilly sent his research minion to "find the truth," she perked up "I've got it," and that was the last I heard on the question.

I don't listen to this guy anymore since he obviously became a Kerryite. But if he said that, he is a liar just like his candidate.

I didn't hear it, but I'm not surprised. O'Reilly is so uninformed that it's a joke. He tries to act like an authority on everything. He's a fraud.

Kerry Pledged To Significantly Reduce Troops In Iraq Within Six Months Of Taking Office. Kerry and Rubin also are detailing a new Iraq policy to significantly reduce the number of U.S. troops in Iraq during the first six months of a Kerry administration. He's not supposed to know everything. Not knowing what Kerry said ages ago isn't a crime. It's only a crime if he doesn't admit his mistake on a future show after someone points out his error to him.

O'Reilly vociferously denied Kerry ever said six-months. And he said it in the obnoxious way he says about everything that he knows nothing about.
His female minion found it (I guess on the Internet) 30 seconds later. To my knowledge he didn't mention it again.
He's a dishonest guy.

So Bill studied everything there was to know about John Forgery Kerry and didn't know that he had said 6 months and it took his researcher a couple of minutes to dig it out??
So is Bill O lobbying See BS to become Rather's replacement?

That is the only talk radio show I can get when I am working at my farm. O'Reilly thinks he is going to be anotherRush Limbaugh. I hate O'Reilly but it's kind of like listening to McAuliffe or Daschle....It makes me realize why I am a Republican and why we need GWB.

O'Reilly has become a mere shadow of his former self, and the victim of his own celebrity and success. Seen it happen many times. He got too big, and he couldn't handle it. He was more concerned with being accepted by the "in" crowd that he became one of them.

O'Reilly also wrote a blurb on the back of Doug Brinkley's book about Kerry, "Tour of Duty"
"Doug Brinkley succeeds in humanizing John Kerry, something the senator often has trouble doing himself. Tour of Duty is an incisive look at a man who would be president." -- Bill O'Reilly

Something's definately gone wrong with O'reilly lately. I dunno if franken made him snap or what.
Clue for O'reilly: Act conservative, be popular. Act moderate or wussy, you won't be.

Thank you. I've only listened a few times but it is the most annoying format. It says a lot that he has to have his own cheering section on the show.
To: ArmedNReady
I didn't hear them. I don't listen to his radio show or watch his TV program anymore. IMO he has wimped out on us, or as Laura Ingram put it the other day: "Hey, Bill O'Reilly, the people who made you what you are are tuning you out." To which I say: AMEN.
I think B. O. wants Kerry to win.

That is so obvious to me too.
To: angkor
He is dishonest......about the Ann Coulter interview, he dismissed her and always refers to her as a radical or extremist in the same breath with Michael Moore. She can trounce him in a one-on-one debate anytime!
Tonight my son made me watch O'Reilly cuz he saw yesterday's interview with Laura who thoroughly thrashed him. YET, he reads THREE letters complimentary to him and only one that supports Laura; BUT the one that supported Laura referred to himself as a right-winger.....in other words, it was a slam AGAINST Laura by intimating that her fans are all right-wingers and not fair and balanced.
My son (no right-winger) was dumbstruck! I had bet him that O'Reilly would only select letters that made HIM look fair and balanced. I figured that out by how he treated Ann Coulter and Michael Savage who always have some excellent points to make. My son had to concede that I was correct in saying that O'Reilly was arrogant and dishonest. What a fraud!!!!

Can we all please please PLEASE stop bashing O'Reilly? Sheesh, a few years ago we all worshipped him on FR.
I'll admit, I think he has lost his edge for at least the past year. It seems he bit off more than he could chew when he started talk radio. It's about that same time that his TV show started to get wishy-washy.
But please, folks, stop bashing him. He is NOT the enemy, the liberals are, OK? Thank you and have a nice day.:)
To: Delphinium
I hope he gets the can soon. Surely Murdock can find a way.
My problem, besides the fact that he is a legend in his own mind, is the way Fox treats his program as sacred even in news breaking events. Of course, it must be this way, because he pretapes his program and is not on live as the others. Therefore, Mr Pompous is not available to give live updates.

To: ArmedNReady
I used to like O' Reilly, even though I occassionally didn't agree with his opinions.
Then- he was so completely arrogant and dismissive re. the brave Swift Boat Vets (whom as a Viet-era vet I completely admire). This crossed the line. He has lost any trust I had, as well my attendance during his self-serving "factor".
Equating the Swift Boat Vets with kerry's mendatious 527s is too completely repugnant for any "humble correspondent", and is the most ridiculous item of the YEAR. I guess one could say that my viewership stops....here.

uh, he is completely kicking ass in ratings, so how can he be going down? His job isn't to please freepers. he's going for as big an audience as he can get. If he pisses off both sides a bit that would probably just improve his ratings.
To: ArmedNReady
Tonight I heard him admit that he was unaware that it's been more than a month since Kerry held a press conference. Yet he wants acceptance as an authoritative, all-knowing analyst. What a twit.

I remember his broadcast after Lawrence v. Texas, where he defended the opinion on Fourth Amendment grounds and that was not cited once in the opinion. He needs better writers.
