CONSERVATIVE BICKERING

Posted on 09/16/2004 11:04:27 PM PDT by RepublicanAttackMachine

Bill O'Reilly has been taking tons of heat this week for bashing the right wing talk show hosts, but i didn't get to hear it. Did he actually call out any names? I know Savage and Ingraham had a few choice words for him in response to what Bill had said.

Although, I heard Savage attacks Rush and Sean every now and then. What has he said about them? Could he just be attacking Bill to be entertaining, or do you think he seriously has a problem with him?

IMO -- Laura destroyed Bill, and Savage would too.

I highly doubt Savage would have to guts to do it in O'Reilly presence. .....like Laura did.

Is that something to be proud of? Does one applaud an opera star for clearing her throat?

False title. O'reilly isn't a conservative.

LOL! Good call. He's losing more and more respect from EVERYONE by the day.

But does anyone know about the Savage thing? What he's said about Hannity, Limbaugh, and O'Reilly in the past?

Savage has alluded to Rush and Hannity being Republican party pawns.

On another point, I don't think Savage would beat Bill. Savage is not quite as impressive as Laura or Shawn.

I've heard that michael calls rush the "Checkered pants conservative" and "cigar smoking conservative", i guess implying hes just some rich blowhard who doesn't care for what he's saying. I've heard he also makes fun of hannity for the way he talks, makes him sound like a mental midget, etc. Quotes?

I know Savage has had a grudge with Hannity because hannity took his spot in SF.

p.s. I think Savage would certainly beat Bill. Savage has the best grasp of history out of all the hosts, bar none. Savage will also be the quickest to totally belittle any position O'Reilly takes -- something Hannity and Rush wouldn't do, either out of civility, or concern for ratings.

Kinda seems like the only hosts who aren't at each others throats are Limbaugh-Hannity.

I really doubt Savage is intimidated by O'Reilly. Boortz easily got O'Reilly to lose it and call Neal "a vicious son of a bitch". Savage could make O'Reilly cry, but neither is going to call during the other's show. He was mentioning how all his calls in the first part of the show were about this thing with O'Reilly. I think it's because those are the brawls you really want to see. I'd like to see Moore vs Savage (just to see Moore destroyed).

I like how Hannity tries to go after libs, but he just misses so many opportunities it's embarassing. It's probably why he surrounds himself with all those papers; to have his cheat sheets ready. Savage just goes balistic, which is probably what many people like about him (hence all the O'Reilly calls). Hannity has a good heart, but it's a shame he uses the same arguments all the time and is outmaneuvered by a lib who's heard them.

The way Savage makes fun of Rush is "Boy, those Democrats sure are terrible, and boy, let me tell you, those Republicans really are swell." His "Hannity" is simply, "Hey, there buddy! My good friend! Hey, good to see you buddy!" It's funny because it's true.

And another thing, now that I think about it. Whatever audio processor Savage uses on the mics is so annoying. When he talks, it automatically turns down the volume of the caller, and there is a very long "release" time. This happens not only with regular callers, but his guests. He had a woman handwriting specialist (the same one who was on O'Reilly's show today) and he'd start to interject and miss her next statement because the volume was potted down. She could hear him, but he couldn't hear her. He doesn't need that stupid thing; he argues well enough on his own. It just makes him sound senile.

You forget to mention...she has class.

"I'd love to see her have more exposure (like as BO's replacement)."

I second the motion.

"As grateful as I am for what FOX has done, I have discovered that my remote has a channel button. And I use it liberally after Special Report with Brit Hume ends."

My TV also has a remote, kept safely away from me by my wife. Like you, she normally turns the channel away after Brit Hume, always if I'm in the room.

The TV was a present to her and she doesn't want it to come to any physical harm.
