They did take a photo of the event...She looks so sad, and the union thug who tore up the sign still has a portion of it in his hand. I felt compelled to send an email to the president of the union (his email address has already been posted here if anyone else is so inclined). My email was:

Sir:

My son, SGT Brian Wood, was killed in Iraq this year. He died to protect this country and the freedoms we enjoy, among them the freedom to speak our minds without concern that someone physically stronger than us will use their strength to quell that speech.

I am not a union member, so obviously your published promise to listen doesn’t apply to me. I would like to say how disgusted I am that members of your union took it upon themselves to, by physical force, prohibit a father and his two very minor children from expressing their First Amendment rights to free speech at the W. Virginia airport rally for Senator John Edwards. This is a throwback to the union days of Jimmy Hoffa and organized crime. You and your union should be ashamed of this craven act of brutality. Such a lovely picture it is of a 3 year old crying and your union thug with a wide smile on his face and a portion of the little girl and her father’s sign clutched in his grubby paw.

You should be ashamed of yourselves….I know that I am. Your union and its brownshirt thugs belong in Nazi Germany, not free America.

Most sincerely,

Gregory Wood

I know, I know, its a bit over the top, but I suspect that subtlety is lost on people who think that brute force is the way to win the arguement.
