The NY Times and the Washinton Post smell blood. This COULD get good.
You can maybe trust the WaPo once in a while, but never trust the NYT. They won't run anything that isn't okay with top Dem officials.
This was spin to absolve the Dems -- cut Burkett out of the herd, isolate him, and sacrifice him. Thus endeth the investigation. Don't be surprised is the WaPo takes the hint and drops it.
It's a very common tack that government officials take when backed up against the wall. NYT is only happy to carry the DNC's water.
