"There was a breakdown in communication," she said. I would hope they would be monitoring this and making good judgment to be able to say whether it is safe for the flying pubic to be out there."

You folks okay down there? :)
CD was heading for the beach I think.
After seeing the disaster left by Ivan from Alabama to Tennessee north, I wouldn't dream of whining about a little wind and a lot of rain.
This was one wild storm, wasn't it?
Amazing how much damage Ivan created in practically every state east of the Mississippi. I just heard on the news that they have found 8 more bodies in Pensacola raising the death toll there to 24 with 14 still missing.
Keeping our fingers crossed that Jeanne heads out to sea later next week.

"Hurricane-Force Winds Recorded" ... but, but ... the NHC is telling us that there are no active hurricanes left ... even Javier now about to hit Baja California is just a mere tropical storm ... who would believe it by looking at the lastest ?

Our local (Palm Springs area) weather dudes and dudettes are pretty worthless so I have to leave it up to myself to make the assumption that it's Javier that has really bumped up our humidity the past 2 days, and thrown a fair bit in the way of scattered clouds into the desert.
