I guess they overlooked the perfectly centered, typed, header, which is far more solid proof than of the other items they cite. Totally impossible with technology available at the time.

Here are the signatures, side by side. That, alone, says it all.

This proves nothing. Bush authored the one on the left; he did not use WORD 73. The LTC authored the right; he used WORD 73.

Apparently, Killian developed a new signature and lost a state-of-the-art typewriter/word processor within the space of a year...

Plus all the other mistakes as captured on FR - e.g. use of "0" in front of date on the fakes - signature block on the wrong side of the memo, etc, etc, etc...!!!

Huh, oh. We'd better investigate the background of this WP reporter. Obviously, he's highly technical in that he can spot the differences between an old typewritten military document and a modern day MS Word forgery. He must be a REPUBLICAN!

It's all Bush's fault.

And the timing of this report is highly suspect.

Does anyone know what ARPC (NARS) means?

I ask the question because of the RATs' charge that he was supposed to report to some organization or other in Boston.

And last, but certainly not least, NO ONE is questioning the information contained in the FAKE document. I mean just because the evidenciary document is an obvious forgery by a self-admitted Bush hater with a history of false claims against Lt. Bush, there's NO REASON AT ALL that we shouldn't believe the information contained therein. - Dan Rather.

We should quit panicking about the forgeries and delusions of this mental case and immediately call for a full scale CONGRESSIONAL investigation of George W. Bush's TANG service. Where is the OUTRAGE? Where is JUSTICE!?

ARPC (NARS)

It means Denver, period.

Which, of course, is exactly what Bush has said all along.

(And, no, I didn't know; I had to ask, too.)

It has been a while, but I believe that it's:
ARPC- Air Reserve Personnel Center, and
NARS- Non-active reserve status.
I'm sure about ARPC but not the later.

There's another interesting formatting quirk/inconsistency. If the letter in question (on the right side) was indeed typed, why would the typist superscript the "th" in some parts of the letter and not in others? More specifically, the "111th" in the centered letterhead does not have a superscripted "th", whereas in the body of the letter, the "th" is superscripted. This can be accounted for how Microsoft Word decides to do superscripting. Some "paragraph styles" will automatically cause a "th" after a number to be superscripted, while some other styles do not. In general, paragraph styles for normal text (as in the body of a letter) will do it, and those for headers (as in a letterhead) will not. Just a bit more evidence that a word processor was used here.

I guess they overlooked the perfectly centered, typed, header, which is far more solid proof than of the other items they cite.

USA Today has a set of 6 documents, the same 4 that CBS showed, and 2 others. One of the two others has a header with a "superscript th," and THAT header is also perfectly centered.

Yeah. They're forgeries alright. Hey, how did that monospace get in there?? ;-)

I conducted my own investigation this week. My cleaning lady (who does not follow the news at all) is ex Air Force and she worked with as a clerk. I showed her the documents in the PDF from UDA today. Her reaction was immediate. She said they were totally in the wrong format. She went over nearly every point I have heard here and then she saw the one regulation number and said that was not real either. She said her job was to know the regulations.

Folks, my cleaning lady is not a rocket scientist and she spotted all the formatting problems immediately. Of course she knew nothing of kerning and proportional fonts. CBS and Dan Rather had to know they were bad.

What do you mean "finalize it"?!

I'm having way too much fun watching CBS squirm and lie and make fools of themselves. I'm having great fun watching others in the MSM eating one of their own. Plus, Kerry can't get out any message while all this is going on. I don't want to finalize it!

You got to be an absolute mental midget to not no the difference between proportional fonts and non-proportional when attempting a forgery.  The alternate explanation is the blind rage that an opponent might have. Then again, you can center a courier font using a typewriter if you count your characters ahead of typing them!!

Well the the document on the left is definitely suspicious. Here we are to believe that GW Bush is asking for permission to do something when we know that his MO was to use his daddy's pull and disobey orders. It must be a fake.

C-BS has been able to keep this story on the front pages for going on 2 weeks now. The MSM usually doesn't have an attention span even approaching one week. Since the story just will not seem to go away poor old JFK has been denied that much more air time. And when he does get airtime its about his wife telling people to go naked or some other such sensitive tripe. I am not complaining. I am overjoyed!!!!!!!!!!!!.

For the heck of it I searched for 35-13 and found these Air Force orders from 1970:

http://www.ec47.com/varorder.htm

I guess somehow that Air Force Regulation authorizes the awarding of the Basic Aircrew Member Badge (Permanent).

Notice the difference in the two different signatures, the dotted "i's" in the name Killian....the true documents have his i's dotted with two noticeably lateral squiggly lines while the forged i's are dotted much like we are taught in handwriting class.

....just an observation..
