Unions are obsolete!
The NAACP, really NAALP, L for liberal, is nothing short of a union for black Americans. No direct dues. Only indirect ones. You have to "shop at the company store" forever if you back them.
Union President Duane Woerth - "We have a fantastic legal advantage that they would die for. As a union, we have antitrust immunity."
The "they" was corporate managers. It is an admission of an "unlevel playing field" on the behalf of the unions. Unions use violence to maintain their monopoly. Why doesn't anyone question this? What happens to me if I cross a picket line as a "scab?" I better have good medical, yeah?
Why don't we consider Unions monopolies? They are. Why are they exempt from anti-trust laws? Union members are bullies, pure and simple. We need to wake up to this fact.
In General but especially with the Teamsters, The unions are as much organized crime as they are work related.
The Mafia is still as deep with the Teamsters as it was in Jimmy Hoffa's day.
Being forced to join a Union was the best thing that ever happened to me.
It made me quit my job, go back to school and now I have been a RN for almost 25 years.
One _could_ make a comparison between that (dis)organization and certain 'facets' of union-life (and probably get Oneself banned from this site by mushminded do-gooders)...
"Why doesn't anyone question this?"
-- I think it's only happened once, when Reagan fired all of the air traffic controllers. We need more of that.
