Can someone please tell me the function of a so-called "free-trade agreement?" If there's free trade, there doesn't need to be any government involvement - just contracts agreed to by the trading partners. If you trust another entity, you don't need a treaty. And if you don't trust them, why would you accept their signature on a treaty? (Recall "Peace in Our Time.")
Aren't governments signing a "free-trade" treaty oxy-moronic?
Basically, it really isn't free trade, but the agreements due reduce tariffs & govenrment interference in the trade, which is a start. A "Free-er" trade agreement would be a better title.
