The red ones are usually "OFF" or "STOP".
Gotta stick with the traditional color coding for safety purposes.

The red ones are usually "OFF" or "STOP". Which means the "SELF-DESTRUCT" button really should be black or something instead of red. I can't tell you the number of times I've been 5 seconds from annihilation because of that. And they really should locate it somewhere besides right above all the other buttons.

Don't want to get anybody confused, you know. There are certain types of "ON" or "GO" buttons that are red. The "Fire" button on many weapons systems for example. But I don't think we want something that goes "boom". In fact, *that* we've already got, we call them H-bombs.
