I think you have sort of mis-stated my approach to the problem. I say that when they attack us and then flee to a refuge where they have come to depend on our unwillingness to attack when there is potential for considerable collateral damage. The ones who are doing the shooting, killing, beheading, kidnapping, etc. are the ones we have a score to settle with. At some point we will probably have to realize that one reason they can get all these civilians to surround them is that the civilians consider the insurrectionists a great danger to them than our bombing raids.

I do not claim to have the answer or even an answer and make no pretenses to the contrary. I am overall satisfied with the way the war is being handled right now. I see evidence every day that more and more the majority of people in Iraq see the difference in our tactics and those of the insurrection and they are slowly starting to believe that we want to get out of their country as much, and probably a whole more, than they want us out! I am guilty of being a pretty impulsive person, a trait which frequently does not serve me well. I could tolerate the pace of this war much more gracefully if I didn't have to listen to John Kerry and his ilk every day providing hope t the enemy that if they can be violent enough our voters will kick Bush out and bring Kerry in.

The tactics of the terrorists here are not to stand and fight and even their ambuses are not that damaging. They try to kill with remote controlled explosives. So they are far away when they go off.

Since they are killing more Iraqis than Americans eventually their welcome will be worn out before too long.
