USA TODAY has a copy of the phony documents, as well as two more, also likely phony.

USA TODAY was had too, and wants its pound of flesh.

Why would loony Burkett rat out the DNC so quickly...something stinks!

Because Burkett has some serious paranoia issues, and now feels like CBS and the DNC are trying to burn him. Which they are.

Remember liddy was just trying to (illegally) document demos with prostitutes.

Yep. Did you hear Carl Cameron, today, say that Kerry himself was telling the press they needed to pay attention to the 60 Minutes story on Bush's National Guard service?

According to campaign Carl, Kerry was saying this in mid-August.

This goes all the way to Kerry. After losing the election, he may have to resign his Senate seat.

Just to clarify the headline of this thread, what I heard on MSNBC was the Burkett wanted CBS to serve as an intermediary to the Kerry Campaign, not the DNC.

The amount of news that has broken in the last few minutes is absolutely staggering. The story is absolutely HUGH and about to get a lot bigger.

Boom!

The USA Today quotes Burkett: "Neither the Democratic Party or the Kerry campaign had anything to do with the documents"

Democrat-speak decoder-ring settings =

"I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky, and I never told anyone to lie."

You bet. This is their Iran-Contra. I remember back then, when I was still a lib, I saved a Doonesbury cartoon. Mike had been out of touch for some reason, and Zonker was telling him that the White House had been caught selling arms to Iran and using the money to fund the Contras, and Mike says, "No offense, Zonker, but what have you been smoking?" Zonk looks puzzled, and says, "Yeah, I must have gotten that wrong."

This "poses a real danger to the potential credibility of a news organization,"

Poses a real danger?! The understatement of the year. I'd say it rings the death knell.

My God. The Feeding Frenzy that's about to begin.

They are going in like the hyenas they are - they're not even waiting for the carcass to die, they're nipping at the meat already.

First it's Gannett (McPaper), delighting in feeding on Viacom (CBS). Soon it will be Disney (ABC) and others. And the blood's on the water...

So, who's got the popcorn and the Mountain Dew?

Don't know if this has made it to the thread yet but Tony Blankly said that it is clear that Lockhart is lying when he said he didn't talk to Burkett about the Guard issue. Howard Feinman agreed. Blankly predicted that Lockhart would be fired within 48 to 72 hours.

"USA TODAY has a copy of the phony documents, as well as two more, also likely phony.
USA TODAY was had too, and wants its pound of flesh."

The other two ARE phony. The first one in the set doesn't even bother with trying to forge a Killian signature, and has an 01 day military date.

USAT should come clean about its own forged set. They have the chance for an inside scoop here. Why are they holding back?
