According to Max Cleland, Burkett called him and wanted to get in touch with somebody at the DNC. And .. Mapes called Lockhart and told him to call Burkett.
A CBS producer calls the Kerry campaign and tells them to call Burkett .. this doesn't look good at all.

In August Burkett has already talked to Cleland, Kerry's hitman, and Cleland refers Burkett to senior Kerry people, and then in September he wants CBS to put him in contact with Lockhart. Something smells fishy. It doesn't make sense.
