I did not want to watch a gang of anti-American thugs have a big party honoring other anti-American thugs and creeps.

Ah, what a shame. No one wanted to watch egocentric overpaid vacuous starlets fluttering their peacenik attitudes across a stage.
Gave up awards shows awhile ago, but since 2002 and their "chill wind" protestations I have made sure to avoid even catching a couple minutes surfing through the channels.

No, the fact that left-wing tripe like The Reagans and Angels in America and the West Wing got all sorts of nominations dampened interest in the show.
