this story is confusing the heck out of me. HE LOST HIS LEG LAST MONTH AND HE WAS DUE TO GO BACK TO IRAQ IN TWO WEEKS. no f'n way. I would suspect it would take at LEAST a year get back on duty. Anyway I am here in Iraq with the 1st cav, maybe we can pay his attacker a visit :p I went on my 2 weeks leave an wore my "whose your baghdaddy " tshirt. I got lots of positive responses from it.
"ALMOST lost his leg" in a mine explosion, while he was in a vehicle.
"almost" to a reporter is a very flexible measure.
I think it says he almost lost his leg
I think the story said he "nearly" lost his leg. I'm not sure about the exact situation. Maybe he got a flesh wound in his leg that would have shattered the bone had it been a inch off -- something like that.
