This is a key open seat race, and it looks like we'll hold it without too much trouble. Barbieri had a virtually uncontested primary while McMorris won a tough race. McMorris is a pro-life conservative. This is George Nethercutt's current district.

We're also leading in the WA-8 race, according to the post-primary poll I saw somewhere ....

This is going to be a slam dunk for McMorris. I predicted her easy primary win here to everyone that would listen. She has the wiinning attributes of being a conservative, well-funded, an experienced stated leader and (most of all) an appealing woman. Unbeatable combination in the 5th this time around. Bank on it.

And, actually, Barbieri is a decent candidate. I think that he would be a reasonable Dem. Too bad he isn't running in Seattle.

WA-8th, that's the "Eastside" district that Reichert's running in right? Dave Ross would be yet another embarassment for this state if he won that district. Baghdad Jim, Norm Dicks and the two ditzy broads in the Senate are enough!

The poll was release by the NRCC, so it may be a little Sheriff-friendly, but still:

Reichert 52
Ross 36
300 likely voters, before primary
