Top 4 Economic Stories Left Untold by the Major Media©

CBS' Memogate certainly stripped away whatever was left of the thin veneer of neutrality. As bad as Memogate is and was, there are 4 important stories the Media left out of Presidential Reporting this year. As you read some of these items, note that some polls show that John "Weather Vane" Kerry leads Bush on the issue of who can best take care of the economy. Just imagine what America would think if the Major Media reported on these real issues instead of Bush's National Guard history: No. 4. Kerry's Spending Proposals. The Dems are hitting Bush hard on being fiscally irresponsible. Never mind that, until the Contract With America, the Dems never saw a large deficit they didn't like or that their favorite economist, Keynes, advocated deficit spending. We all know that the "Clinton" surplus was the result of Reagan's tax cuts coupled with a Republican Congress that restrained Clinton's spending and Hillarycare. Now they say they care about deficits even though they never once put forth a serious measure in the last four years to cut spending.

From article: some polls show that John "Weather Vane" Kerry leads Bush on the issue of who can best take care of the economy.

Presidents do not "take care of the economy".

REPEAT: Presidents do NOT take care of the economy.

The inanimate business cycle makes the economy what it is. Then, how companies react to supply and demand--and new technological innovations--drives the economy.

Finally, the U.S. represents only about 20% of the world economy. That means 80% of the economy is dependent on foreign factors.

Presidents DO NOT take care of the economy.

Worldwide blogger alert! Attention all pajama-hideen! Please pass the word to the idiots in the main stream media. Presidents do NOT "control the economy".

Presidents do not "take care of the economy".

So I guess that my son was wrong when he said that if I voted for Kerry my stocks would go up.

So I guess that my son was wrong when he said that if I voted for Kerry my stocks would go up.

Your son is ill informed.

What in the world would a president have to do with the profit outlook of stocks?

Does the president control supply, demand, technological change, the economies of China and the UK, etc.? This crap about the president "taking care of the economy" is ludicrous. The business cycle is independent of presidential control.

Besides, the only economies controlled by the president (or premier) are communist/statist countries.

There are a lot of ignorant people in America. It is too bad Bush does not bring the hammer down and parade about twenty economists in front of the camera and tell the ignorant press and the ignornant masses that "presidents do NOT control the economy."
