ON MONDAY, in Brussels, Republican strategist Charles Black debated Kerry campaign adviser and fundraiser R. Scott Pastrick on the implications for Europe of the upcoming U.S. presidential elections. As reported from Europe, Pastrick stated that a Kerry administration would be "culturally sensitive" to European concerns and that the candidate himself had a "natural tendency to march with Europe." Of that point, we have no doubt.

But "march with Europe" in which direction? John Kerry has accused President Bush of living in a "fantasy world" on Iraq. But Kerry claimed in his recent, much-touted "plan" for Iraq that, if elected, he would reduce American troop levels in Iraq by replacing them with troops from France and Germany. Who lives in a "fantasy world"? If Kerry indeed knows anything about Europe, he knows there isn't the smallest chance that these countries will provide troops, not even to their friend John Kerry. Anyone familiar with the state of German forces knows that Germany cannot and will not send troops to Iraq. The Germans are already hard pressed to keep a few thousand troops in Afghanistan. They are not going to deploy significant new numbers to Iraq even if they wanted to--which they emphatically don't.

As for Paris, well, French president Jacques Chirac made it quite clear on Monday, while in New York for the opening of the U.N. General Assembly, that Kerry's possible victory in November would have no impact on France's decision to stay out of Iraq: "French policy with regard to Iraq

has not changed and will not change." ("La politique francaise a l'egard de l'Irak n'a pas change et ne changera pas.")

So, yes, it is true that Kerry will have a "tendency to march with Europe." He will march right out of Iraq, leaving behind chaos and a new terrorist base in the Middle East. In the meantime, he is deceiving the American people by promising French and German help which he knows will never come.

Yes, but Kerry also implied in his speech that he would give away Iraq (sovereign nation) OIL (resources) to countries that would send more troops... Now this is absolutely against everything that Liberal America believes in but look John Kerry said it now so it takes on a new meaning.

Amazing. This dolt thinks that because he schooled in France that he has some kind of connection. In order to try to run as a military candidate, he has had to curry the favor of the "center" to win votes and appear to pro-military. This has alienated him from his base and from the Euroweenies who see him as ABB. France has already declared that the presidential election will not influence their foreign policy vis-a-vis Iraq. There is no position that this dolt can win from.

The french would help IF Kerry agreed to give them all the Haliburton contracts (and american jobs) AND force iraq to pay all saddams debts AND start pricing oil in euros instead of dollars.

IOW if kerry sells out the USA the french will do it.

Nice portrait. Sure seems to show the truth with a visual effect. I just wonder. How much France if for the Lurch to get in. If Chirac really said:
Chirac says, "Non!".
I thought a lesser French official had made that statement a few days back, but never the less.
Interesting.
Might be a signal to GWB that Chirac really does hope he is re-elected dispite the official posture. Who could ever trust Lurch? He probably got the French spinning around trying to figure out what side on issues he really stands for...heee ha. You can bet Putin don't trust him. If he had Putin over hear for a pheasent hunt, Putin wouldn't know if the jerk might accidently shoot him in the back!

Perhaps he would get them to lend us their military hardware.

The white flag.

This must be Kerry's Anti-Vietnam plan. Lure the French army into Iraq and leave. Just like the French asking us to help in Vietnam, just before they left Vietnam.
