Actually, Fulbright loved Kerry! Fulbright had communist ties and the war protesters fit right in with his agenda. Back then, there were journalists, like William Buckley, who had his number and wrote about. The liberals, of course, won on emotion but they were short on common sense.

Someone on FR had a short list of William Fulbright connections, and it might be a good idea to repost it; the connections running back and forth to the young Clinton, Kerry, etc. make Fulbright look like the nation's socialist switchboard operator.
