It backfired when 60 Minutes itself got caught using forged documents. Still, Isikoff indicates that 60 Minutes is planning to air the anti-Bush piece, perhaps as early as Sunday night, September 26.

Don't assume that the next hit will come from CBS. There are plenty of other media outlets who want in on the action. My guess, though, is that after seeing what happened to CBS, they will tread more softly. What they will do is focus on strategies that are akin to handing a noose to Bush, and hoping he hangs himself. For example, they might pressure him to give an answer to the question of whether he will resurrect the draft. If he hints that he might, then it's not their doing--it's his mistake.

I don't know if it is chutzpah or abject stupidity (or both) for CBS, under the current circumstance, to air a story about ANYONE getting snookered by forged documents. But, then again, irony is lost on today's liberals.
