Bush needs to coopt the Two Americas theme. In Kerry's America, we are always at falt, we are always going to lose, and we are incapcable of doing more than one thing at a time. In Bush's America, we have the strength to tackle the hard problems, we fight for what we believe in, and we have a can do attitude.

Excellent point. Kerry seems to have no hope for the future - no faith in the spirit of Americans to make more of their future without his help. And even then it is not an inspired future he sees (or offers).

Bush offers a hopeful vision and his 'swagger' is seen as confidence. When I see pictures of him driving his truck in Texas I see a guy who can get along on his own. When I see Kerry on his wife's estate I see a leech who can't survive without a nanny state or a benefactor.
