The people in this country need to wake up and realize that terrorism by Islamic extremists is only one of two fronts of attack on the U.S.. Socialism and it's bigger brother, communism, is the other front that never really went away and has a greater foothold than ever before.
In my own personal observations, my boss's son was fairly conservative in his beliefs. Since college, he now boasts of the "merits of communism". I can't describe how repulsed this made me feel. His own father, a very conservative person, was in horror and disbelief.
Sadly, this is far from being an isolated case. This is happening all too often to too many youths and even older people that I know. A few years back, some friends of mine temporarily moved to the Pittsburgh area. On numerous occasions, some people there that they met tried to sway them to socialism. The pressure was frequent.
I know many people, some of them good friends, who have immigrated to this country to get away from such horrors and they readily see the signs of increasing socialist pressures evolving here in the West.
I applauded Schwarzenegger's recent comments about Humphrey and socialism during the convention and it is my hope that more public figures have the guts to help bring this growing disease to a head. This quiet, slow invasion and perversion must stop. It is no less threatening to our country's welfare than is Osama and other radical Islamists.
