Section 9 checking in. I'm on the southern edge of where the Hurricane force winds will be. The only pain is that I took down two of my plywood pieces a couple of days ago and now have to put them back up this morning. Sucks.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

I am more ready now than with Charley, about as well as with Frances. Problem with that is a false sense of security.

And again, it appears from the tracks that Daytona Beach will get the NE quadrant of the hurricane, which is where the twisters spawn mostly.

Last weekend I spent 6 hours taking down my plywood and caulking all the damn holes in the CMU.

I am not putting them back unless this turns into a 4.

Unreal, isn't it? By the time to unwind emotionally from a hurricane, another one comes along. I am staying put again, but I have a feeling this one might be worse than Charley (eye went over us), which was violent but over quickly, and Frances which was like a non stop blast of a wall of wind. I know what the NOAA folks say the winds were here, but I don't agree with them and I think the winds never dropped under @ 65 mph for 18 hrs straight.

Also to add insult, every storm has come in on a weekend! What's with that? Another round of plans ruined to sit around staring at the weather channel At least I kept power the last few storms, but I'm doubtful that I'll be that lucky with Jeanne.

Woke early - groan.

My barometer was at a high of 1012 yesterday, was at 1008 when I went to bed at 2am and is now at 1004. I'm near Orlando.

I still need to finish tightening everything down and getting some last minute stuff. Gas stations around me are already out of gas. Thank goodness I had filled the tanks and had my full gas cans left over from Frances.

Going to see about buying a wireless webcam today and mounting it outside. Just have to figure out where.

Pray for all of the people in this state they have been through so much.WE had 75 mile an hour winds sustained for over 8 hours here the last time!

Prayers to all of you and stay safe! My mom is in Fort Pierce and will be hunkered down with friends in Vero Beach again. I drove down there from Connecticut after Frances and did some repairs to her home, like taking down the damaged car port and screened-in porch, and patching the roof. Those repairs were supposed to last until the contractor got there. Her home is not in any shape to stand up to 120 moh winds. The rest of her community is in the same basic condition. While you are praying, please say one for the older folks down there in harm's way.

I like how they named the towns and cities. Gives me more of an idea of where the storm is heading.

My thoughts and prayers are with anyone in the path of the hurricane. What a hurricane season, eh? Horrifying!

Thanks for letting me know when. I'll be saying prayers for everyone in Florida.

I think if I was there I'd be walking around with a zombie look on my face, kind of a 'not again' look. It's way past time for the good folks in Florida to have some breathing room in between these hurricanes.

The Tampa Bay Bucs, former Super Bowl Champs, get to postpone home games if we have hurricanes. I think Coach Gruden has something to do with it.

Well, my boat made it thru Frances. It's tied up and secure in Stuart. I drove over to the west coast yesterday. Spending a few days at the Hyatt, in Bonita Springs.

The boating industry will have trouble recovering from this mess. My boat insurance is due on October 17th, got the notice the premium has been increased by $600. Damn, I didn't have any claims.

Stay safe......
