"...Thune is still leading in SD, so this now remains, for me, the key Senate race. I lived in Oklahoma for 13 years, and want the best for the state -- and that is Dr. Coburn. The rest of us non-Okies will also greatly benefit from his presence in Washington."

Thanks for speaking out to non-Okies about this race, Agrarian. I have great concerns as well that it is crucial for us to hang on to this seat. I was in Texas recently. There is a person running for congress, and their signs are wonderful in that they show the importance of voting in representatives that will work with the President.

It has "BUSH-CHENEY-WOHLGEMUTH a great team" or something like that. Very effective. We need to grab onto that Bush coattail as hard as we can!! I hope the new Coburn push will emphasize that we really need a Republican senator if for no other reason than to help break the deadlock in the senate about judge appointments.

It is so terribly vital that when there are great conservative candidates that we support them, no matter where they are. Tom Coburn is one of those guys. If we can get him into the Senate and keep him there, we will benefit for decades.

I have no heartburn about socially liberal guys like Guiliani running for Senate in NY (I hope he does, and that he wins!) -- because that's about what the state can elect right now, and because he would be a loyal Republican, unlike the ostensibly Republican Senators from Rhode Island and Maine. But I'm not going to pull out my checkbook for him, even though I like him. But places like Oklahoma are able to elect good, heartfelt across-the-board conservatives to Washington, and we need to help them.

We've got too few really good ones in Washington right now, ones who are conservative to the core the way Reagan was. I think Rick Santorum is one of those guys. One I have personally met is Sen Conrad Burns of Montana. He leaves you with the impression that his conservatism goes all the way to his bone marrow.

Coburn is another of those guys, and we need to help out in this race, from all over the country. The Dems are pouring tons of outside money into the state.

Keep working, Okie Republicans!
