I have run into a few. Got a neighbor like that.

Best to go around them -- way, way around.

Hate is a sight to behold, from a safe distance.

I offered to give him my copy of "Unfit for Command" and he said there was nothing but lies in it, even though he has never seen it.

If you face this situation again, try saying, "Well, I would offer you my copy of John Kerry's book, The New Soldier,(I think that's the name of it) but he won't authorize the re-publication of it."

Let me know how that goes over. After you come out of your coma, that is.

You might want to think twice about posting such personal info.

Yes, but I am not outing Dan Rather. :^D

Thanks for the concern, though.

If this aquaintance is so unbalanced he doesn't know that it's a FAT that Hanoi honors John Kerry as a north Vietnamese "war hero", he's beyond help or reason.

I predicted over a year ago that rabid leftist reactions would become more and more violent as they fight to keep their carefully constructed fantasy worldview from falling apart.

We're seeing it big time now. You're right to fear violence from the left. Their actions are bound to keep getting worse.

Some violence after Kerry's defeat wouldn't suprise me either. Perhaps it will serve to expose the rabid Bush-haters for who they are and we can finally lock them up - Gitmo might be a good start.

Liberals are rabid and blinded to the truth by their liberalism. You CANNOT reason with a liberal. Liberalism is a disease.

Little difference between your friend of a friend and MSM. And OF COURSE it's maddening. There is no truth--remember that; it's perception.

A LOT of freepers in a lot of posts are stocking up anticipating violent rioting for a while after the election. Its possible.

There are several of this category who hang out at my after work "watering hole" (i.e., dive), several of whom actually have pretty good jobs. I have invariably found they were raised in union households, and the most unreasonable of the lot in highly religious union households. I'm fascinated by the suicidal nature (in the case of one of the denizens of my hang-out, literally so) of these people, and have always hoped to stumble across a good book explaining what it is that channels people into liberal/socialist mindset. But, it seems like I've always got better things to do.

They're ridiculously easy to defeat in a debate, and probably the best reason I was offered to stop debating one of them early this year was that he would be glad to go out to the parking lot and beat me up. I'm a little old for that sort of thing, so I just avoid political conversations with him. I did give him a copy of the forged Rathergate documents, which annoyed him something terrible.

"I have given up on trying to argue politics with stupid people whose mind you will never change."

Never underestimate the danger from stupid people in large groups.

It is troubling, largely because it is so irrational, and the perps are impervious to discrepant information.

These people have made it intensely personal, so their beliefs systems have snapped shut like a box. It is closely related to clinical paranoia.

"I wonder if I sounded as nutzie about Clinton as these people do about our President."

You had good reason, they do not. One can differ on policy, but President Bush has done nothing to earn the vicious hate directed at him.

You should have asked him who TeRAYza gave her tax refund to. Oh, I forgot, she won't release it. If nothing else you should have asked him to explain Kerry's stance on Iraq. Be careful though, if you make him think too hard he might have about 4 seizures and you might have to call 9-1-1.

I was driving back from Sams yesterday and this guy in a car in front of me had about 10 bumber stickers shredding Bush. Stuff like Emporer Has no Clothes, Bush Sucks, We are safer now. yeah, right etc. However, there was not 1 sticker saying who the guy was voting for. Not one Kerry or Nader sticker. I think this guy is tipical of the Dem voter this year. I don't think you can win an election with that attitude. This guy will go to the polls to vote against Bush but Joe sixpack won't. Kerry gives nobody a reason to vote FOR him. Not even this Bozo with all the stickers new why he should vote for Kerry.
