TRENTON, N.J. -- Former Republican Senate candidate Doug Forrester is mounting a media campaign calling for Dan Rather's retirement.
The businessman has purchased commercial time on Rather's "CBS Evening News" and on New York and Philadelphia radio and television stations.
CBS News admitted last week that it could not authenticate documents it had used in a "60 Minutes" story that questioned Bush's service in the Texas National Guard during the Vietnam War era. Many critics consider the documents to be fake.
The network and Rather have apologized for airing the story.
Forrester said political bias was behind the report.
Forrester lost to Democrat Frank Lautenberg in the U.S. Senate race in 2002.
He's been testing the waters for a possible run for governor next year
SeeBS is going to air an anti-Rather commercial during the Rather show?
I'll believe THAT when I see it...
Hey CBS, that first amendment is tasty huh?
Payback is hell ...Rather! Wonder if Forrester needs any extra money? Might have a few quarters to help out.
I got $25 spare to donate. Anyone have a link to this?
Only thing I have found on this yet..is the article I posted.
Send it to Mel Martinez instead. We need every cent we can get in Florida.
I dont want him to retire- I want him FIRED FOR THIS BLATANTLY BIASED AND UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
FORGED DOCUMENTS FOR CHRISSAKES!!!!
Nice to see Forrester really is serious about doing some good with his money. It's also nice to see he didn't just flake off after getting cheated in '02. I have to admit, I might be too turned off to the whole process after getting cheated like that too.
Let's not overlook this important fact in the midst of CBS's equivocal capitulation.
He won't be prosecuted if he's still employed by CBS. If CBS fires him, then blood stirs up the justice department. Ashcroft is real brave prosecuting music downloaders, statues with boobs, Arizona citizens who detain illegals trespassing on their farms, and covering for agents who shoot boyscouts. He seems to only prosecute the weak to the fullest extent of the law. Maybe a weakened Rather will give Ashcroft a woody for justice? Besides, an unemployed Rather can pay for his own legal bills. That's sweet.
Problem with that is no one is watching it.
You have got to be joking! Mel Martinez is a filthy evil stinking trial lawyer that made his money suing Dr's and hospitals.
Betty Castor is a pig to be sure but Mexi Mel is the purest form of evil.
Personally that is a race where I will vote for no one.
Your either badly misinformed, stupid, or a DU troll if you actually believe this.
An anti-Dan commercial on CBS????
Or well informed.
Do a little research on Mr Mel, you'll see his true colors.
Blah blah blah. Sound like a Betty Castor aid. If we threw out every lawyer who ever sued someone, we wouldn't have half of the Republicans in Congress. Trying to paint him as John Edwards is braindead and simply doesn't hold up to the facts.
Mel's record in public office and positions on the issues speak for themselves, and are universally good.
If Castor wins, and continues to shelter Jihadist like she did as a University President, I think people like you should be held in equally at fault for her crimes, and make no mistake, thats what they were. Crimes against humanity if nothing else.
1. 'Evil' trial lawyer huh? I guess anybody who's ever debated in a court room is 'Evil' and is worse then the Jihadist he is opposing. Nice try. Trying to cast issues in lights you like doesn't make you right. To any intelligent, well informed person, you just made a fool of yourself.
2. With the exception of putting 'braindead' together as one word, (intentionally) I spelled nothing wrong. So, in the words of Teresa Heinz-Kerry, SHOVE IT.
