We have confirmed that our mountain house survived. Your friend must be devastated. What can we do to help?

Thanks for asking...she says that "folks" there just all pitch in and help each other. I guess you must be like that too.

I am afraid that all they can do is get heavy equipment in there to open their driveway and wait for nature to add its green glory to the rock piles. The pictures actually look like the rocky bottom of a dried up lake.

They had a small run-off type creek that was partially diverted to a large pond. The actual creekbed circled the property and went under the driveway entrance.

Their house is set on a steep incline and I think is AOK. It looks like a log house set high above the main road with a long and sometimes steep driveway.

They seem most concerned for a young man named Jason who lost his home entirely. He is a person of limited ability and one who had friends to support him. If you hear of a house building party you could offer to help in some way.

I do not think my friends will need help since insurance was adequate...but I will tell them of your concern and get back to you if they need your help.

Thank you again for the offer...boy it sure proves FREEPERS are awesome!
