Notice the higher rainfall totals in NE Ga versus NC. We are west of Hartwell Dam in Ga by about 90 miles. We had some very heavy rain bands move over us from 3 Pm - 11 PM last night. The storm was slow moving over N Ga. WE had VERY heavy rains, but only moderate winds.
We have property in Macon County/ Otto, NC that suffered serious road erosion and rutting from Frances -- but that rainfall total exceeded 8 inches. Jeanne not so bad.
Notice the flooding in the top two pictures occurred after only 3.3 inches. Imagine what could happen if they had gotten 8 inches...
