I wonder if there is a reason why they all have to be from the left wing of the news media. I was really hopeful that we might get at least one who was not this time around.

Lehrer and Sheiffer need to be removed and replaced by Brit Hume.

I said quite a while ago that the moderators should be balanced. I can see that they haven't taken my advice.

Having liberal moderators slant the questions to promote the agenda of the left is not an impartial debate.

Jim Lehrer/Gwen Ifill's coverage of the RNC was excellent. They both certainly have the capacity to be fair moderators and I expect them to be fair.

Bob Schieffer works for CBS, but everything else points to him being a decent moderator. He went on Hannity's radio show to prove he can do the job fairly.

I'm not familiar with Charles Gibson, but given that the Bush camp does not seem worried about the moderators, I don't think we should be.

Is our Admin Moderator one of them?

Lefties, each and every one.

Precisely. Not a "non-partisan" in the bunch.

My questions to the commission (another bureacracy we don't need) are these: Why do the moderators have to be journalists? Why not accomplished people from other professions? If they have to be from the broadly defined journalistic profession, why not someone like Brian Lamb, or Brit Hume, or some relatively unknown print reporters?

Alternatively, why not have openly partisan moderators? Two for each debate, one Democrat and one Republican? That would be much more honest than the pretense of choosing "non-partisans" Lehrer, Ifill, Gibson and Schieffer, who are really blatant Leftists. They wouldn't recognize genuine non-partisanship if they fell over it.

What's to stop these moderators from giving Kerry the questions in advance?

Guess I'm just getting cynical in my old age...

I'd put Brit Hume at the top of the list, and second place, and third place. He would do a fine job. I think the Republicans got rolled on the choice of the four moderators.
