3 hurt in shooting at Detroit day-care center

Associated Press

DETROIT -- A man opened fire at an in-home day-care center today, critically wounding three people including a 3-year-old, officials said.

Police initially reported a fatality, but Chief Ella Bully-Cummings said at midday that two adults and a child were critically wounded.

A 7-month-old also was injured, possibly from being dropped, and was taken to a hospital, Bully-Cummings said.

Police were searching for the shooter, who they said came to the door of the house on the city's northwest side, exchanged words with someone, entered and opened fire.

"It appears as though this was not random," Bully-Cummings said.

Two other children who did not appear to have been injured also were taken to a hospital as a precaution, she said.

Well I heard about it on Fox this morning (around 10:30) and have been looking for it here since then. This is the first post I've seen.

On Fox they said the gunman walked up, asked "Is this a daycare?" and then started shooting.

...but ...but ... the law forbids anyone carrying a gun in Detroit. How could this have happened?

Ask the Mayor, he was there on the scene walking into the house as broadcast by local TV.

Tell me what the laws are in Detroit, my wife is currently debating someone who says this is (everyone all together now) "All Bush's Fault!!"

I'm sure he wasn't using an 'assault weapon' that was banned until last week...

I just read the CNN story, and I guess they are looking for a male wearing a black jacket and black pants. Political correctness yet again interferes with the police being able to properly identify the killer. I'm surprised they were even able to identify the sex of this bastard.. Next year it may indicate "unknown homo-sapiens wearing clothes".

Chief Ella Bully-Cummings

All seriousness aside, that's one heck of a name. Especially if you like double letters.

Yea ask the mayor, like he really cares. This is the worst city in the USA and this Barry White showboat thinks it's a great place to live.
Wait till you all hear about the new African Town mall he wants to build with the tax payers money. All the papers are calling it blatently racist.
Will the last one leaving Detroit, please turn out the lights.
