The Disloyal Opposition (Guess who?)
The Washington Times ^ | September 29, 2004 | Martin L. Gross

Posted on 9/29/2004, 5:52:00 AM by quidnunc

I was raised as a liberal in the era of a patriotic Democratic Party. But the present party and its presidential candidate John Kerry are a source of great disappointment to me and to millions of other former Democrats.

That once-honored party has now turned dangerously leftward, establishing itself as the anti-American party, creating an unprecedented defeatist, disloyal opposition. Even during the Vietnam War, there were individual protests, but both parties refused to play partisan politics as long as America faced a difficult struggle.

Today the historic credo that the opposition should not give comfort to the enemy has been thrown out the window. The Democrats, in their not-so-slow drift leftward, have crossed the bounds of decent patriotic conduct during wartime, undermining the effort by impugning the honor and honesty of the president and commander in chief. If the polls are correct — the Democrats will pay for their disloyalty on Nov. 2.

That day, patriotic Democratic rank-and-filers will most likely join Republicans in protecting the reputation of America and its decent motives in fighting for freedom whenever and wherever possible.

Wow, another slash and burn from a Democrat for the Kerry campaign apparatus. Of course they'll just yell about him selling out or something.

The Dis-loyal (Democratic) Opposition

2002; We can't win in Afghanistan, the British couldn't, the USSR couldn't and neither can we. Besides, what about Iraq?

2004; We can't win in Iraq. It's a quagmire. Besides, what about North Korea?

.....To be continued

It is so true. The interests of the US and the interests of the democratic party are severely opposed and there is no denying it.

They actually want to hear bads news for our country, because it means that its good for them. I can remember the Jimmy years, when the country felt helpless and useless when our people we're taken hostage by terrorists.
There was just a constant feeling of gloom hanging over this whole country. I'm proud to be from the USA and I never want to enter another era like that again.

The same doom and gloom pessimism is seen in Kerry and his comrades today. What was that character from the Flintstones? shleprock? that always had the raincloud hanging above him.....thats Kerry

After this election, we will see the Democrat Party (DP's) completely split apart.
(In my younger days, 'DP' meant dumb Person)

It remains to be seen what will emerge from the ashes, 2 separate parties? Or will the looniest of the left melt into the green party? Or maybe we will see the emergence of a small "c" Conservative party, a new name to completely disassociate themselves from the memory of a failed, corrupt Democrat party. As they slowly loose the senate seats over the next two years, something will have to happen.
