I wonder what Keith thinks?I thought this was Keith's preference:

I'm not a WT fan, just don't like it.
But there's no accounting for taste when it comes to "distilled waters" - my favorite scotch is 10 year old Laphroaig, a single malt Islay whiskey (they make or used to make 15 and 18 year old, but I prefer the 10). Apparently the cognoscenti prefer Lagavulin, which comes from a distillery almost literally within a stone's throw of Laphroaig. They taste completely different though. I like the smoothness and seaweedy aroma of the Laphroaig, and think that Lagavulin tastes like paint thinner. But apparently everybody's mileage varies.

I took the Jack Daniels factory tour many years ago, very interesting. But now, good bye Jack. Sorry I have to go, but the jerks running the company just ruined your reputation. Like others have said, if I want more water in my J.D., I'll add it myself. I don't need anybodys help.

My doctor said I needed to cut down on my drinking by 20%. So I switched from 100 to 80 proof...hehehe. :))

You should all give Woodford Reserve a try. It's pricey but fantastic.

I personally have no interest in a liquor that is often mixed with Coke.
I prefer a nice glass of Dewars with a cube or two of ice and maybe a side of seltzer.
Of course my first choice is a quality single malt, neat.
(which is what I order when someone says, "I'll get this round")

I have a bottle of Buffalo Trace -- a memento of my trip to Kentucky last summer. It's the secret ingredient in the barbecue mop for my baby back ribs...
Although I haven't tried them, I have read good things about Woodford Reserve and especially about Blanton's.

Amen to that. Messing with whiskey is pure sacrilege.

Try Woodford Reserve and Knob Creek. You will never go back to anything else.

Buffalo Trace is sold in Montgomery County, MD govt-run liquor stores, as is Woodford Reserve. WR is a pleasant tasting, fairly sweet bourbon. It is sort of like Maker's Mark, but with flavor. (I don't like MM - it is to bourbon what vanilla is to Baskin-Robins)

Truth is, the whiskey family is a part of my youth. I rarely drink at all these days. when I do, the tendency is to gravitate to Bacardi Limone and Cranberry juice.
