I like the idea of our kids seeing guns, and uniforms EVERY DAY. I have no fear of americans in uniforms wearing guns. In fact, I think we need to see the majority of our adults ARMED in public. It's not just about terror.
It is about giving our kids the gift of loving guns and defending America from its enemies. Lots of women are scared of guns and military displays that look all 'threatening' and such. But I see them more like a 'warm blanket' and it reminds me of family members, now passed, who NEVER made me fear the military, or guns... only the enemy.
I think they OUGHT to wear khakis or camo on campus... with a little rank or insignia to let onlookers know there are military personnel of the united states on our campuses. Even if they are auxillaries and semi-retirees of limited rank.
but hey, that's just me.
You make good points and I agree, but I look at how the anti-gun left would view uniformed, armed personnel, civilian or otherwise, on elementary school campuses. It would frighten them and touch-off their anti-gun psychosis.
All of my kids/grandkid have been given the gift of firearms and know how to use them.
I use every opportunity I can to encourage women to go to the range and allow themselves to experience the joys of target shooting and the satisfaction of knowing they can defend themselves. There are no women in my family afraid of firearms. And I personally like the idea that the folks who live next door are armed, decent, law abiding people!
Thanks for the reply and let's hope that the threats we face will be taken seriously by ALL Americans, instead of a few.
Thanks!
