The self-centered, egotistical John Kerry obviously wanted to look his best for the debate. That is, after being told that his ship was sinking with the distaff set, Johnny thought he had better skuzzy himself up for the TV cameras. Unfortunately, the instant tan preparation the rich boy used gave him the burnt-orange look of an over-baked pumpkin pie.
That's about how most things have been going for Kerry lately. George Bush campaigns before huge, happy crowds. Kerry speaks before "groups" who often look like they might have been paid to be there and resent the imposition.
Can Kerry live down the attempted assist to his campaign by CBS and some of the far-left major newspapers before November? The liberal national media outlets seem to be talking to a smaller and smaller group of useful idiots every week. Of course, the liberal media is a large block of voters in themselves. They're so busy talking to themselves, maybe they won't notice before November that their believability rate among voters is now down to about 30%.
So -- limousine liberals unite -- the Kerry campaign called upon the "A-Team" of Democrats to help out. Only a couple of them were silly enough to ride this dead pony, though.
First, along came Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, adding a new twist of stupidity to the Kerry campaign. The last thing Kerry needed was Kennedy mouthing off again. But, Kennedy was asked to trash Dubya, so he tried.
Last week, Kennedy told students at George Washington University that: "The president's handling of the war has been a toxic mix of ignorance, arrogance and stubborn ideology. The president's arrogance toward the world community has left our soldiers increasingly isolated and alone." Then the almost sober Kennedy went on to scare tactics: "The war in Iraq has made the mushroom cloud more likely, not less likely."
What the heck is that all about? Alcohol induced dementia praecox, evidently.
Anyway, that didn't work out very well in the news cycles. No one (except the liberal media and union bosses) have paid any attention to Kennedy for years.
So, the bright lights at the Kerry campaign asked for an assist from Jimmy Carter. Carter wouldn't say anything too disparaging about Dubya. Instead, Carter whined that he thought the voting arrangements in Florida do not meet "basic international requirements" and could undermine the election.
Again, that didn't catch much interest in the news cycles -- except for a few laughs, that is. A lot of us are wondering how the senior citizen set in those infamous Florida counties, the ones who cannot even effectively poke a hole in a punch card, can be expected to learn to vote on a computer screen by November. The primary reason those precincts were so screwed up is simply because they are controlled by Democrats. Those poll workers need adult supervision, else they will never get the count correct.
The point is that Kerry cannot get any traction and that's his own fault. He talks so much and so fast that one needs only listen for a few minutes to hear something they will like. That's because it only takes Kerry a few moments to contradict what he started out saying.
The biggest and most important assist to the Kerry campaign is coming stealthily from the unions. Instead of running a lot of ads this year, the unions are saving a few million bucks for a get out the vote campaign. Which means, neighborhood activists will get a lot of "walking around" money. They will convert businesses and non-profit organization offices to phone banks. They plan to rent busses to shuffle voters from precinct to precinct, while providing everyone the enticement of plenty of food and drink, etc., etc.
Most of that is very illegal, of course. But, the practice worked well for the Clinton campaigns. Hardly anyone was convicted because of the activities. So, vote fraud has become an accepted practice for the Democrats. That's the only way they can win.
Meanwhile, an artificially colored burnt-orange Kerry is relegated to whining that the "avalanche" of negative television spots and attacks being shown is scaring off voters. "It's all scare tactics," Kerry said, ... "because (Bush) has no record to run on."
If it weren't so constantly amusing, the implosion of the Democratic Party might be sad to watch. But, they're doing it to themselves.
Bush has happy crowds. Kerry has sad groups.
Most media believability rate is about 30%.

Unions may shuffle voters from precinct to precinct, very illegially. That's the only way the Democrats can win.
The Democratic Party is imploding.

Pass out good dope to crowds of Democrats on election day.Then give a doom and gloom, it's no use voting speech.
They will be too tired and lazy and depressed to vote.

That ad is just too funny. This guy is as nuanced as quicksand. There is no solid ground there at all. I do hope the American people will see through this charlatan.
I sure wish someone with some clout would take on the voter fraud problem. I assumed Bush would, but don't see it.
