According to Washington Whispers, Nugent is tired of MTV and musicians such as P. Diddy pushing young people to vote without pushing them to learn what is really going on.
"That's not good enough," says Nugent. "It's like saying, 'Well, there's a child drowning in the river. Just do something. Here, I'll throw him a cinder block.'"

Democrats believe in Democracy....that is "MOB Rule".
Republicans believe in a Republic...that is a Representative Government."
Our country is a Constitutional Republic. But that doesn't stop the Democrats from trying to change things.

Relevant - but meaningless to the Democrats. The ignorance of their supporters is their only asset.

Question should be,do they know who is running?
I heard one of Hannity's man in the street interviews (or perhpas Leno's) at any rate the question was who is the president and vice president....they got the president correct but seems Al Gore is the VP.

Like the Florida woman who told an interviewer that she was going to vote for Bush. When asked why she said, "He handed me a bag of ice and when the President hands you a bag of ice you should vote for him"
Glad to have the vote but it's gotta be the stupidest reason imaginable to vote for someone. Unless of course you are voting for the "best ice hander" award

Thank God someone else found humor in that. I was beginning to think of myself as a sociopath. :o)

Right. The MO of the Left is to keep their voters dependent and uninformed. That is why they eagerly seek positions in the media in order to censure news to accommodate their agenda. Likewise they wish to propagandize kids by taking advantage of the naivete and idealism of youth. Rock the vote and Moore are good examples.

As is their virtual monopoly in the education (I use the word loosely) system.

Did you hear the one where Jim Kerney is running against Bush?
He then asked if they had heard of his running mate - Stu Ped. The person responded that they had. It was great!!

It really is that bad. That is why the beauty contest part of the debates is important, but I have to say there won't be a lot of voters showing up who do not know who the VP is.
Man on the street interviews hit people who are neither registered or care about the election. These youth voter registration things have been around before. Youth does not turn out like older voters and they are a lower percentage of the population. They do turn out better in Presidential election years than off years, but are much less important as a voting group than middle aged or senior voters.
Example Data

Too many people vote as it is. Instead of encouraging idiots to vote, we should be restricting this priviledge only to those who can pass a designated test which measures both IQ and understanding of the issues. Of course that would guarantee Republican victories forever, but I can live with that.

Why do people who cannot or will not spell correctly write their own headlines?

Clinton told a woman he had just sexually assaulted to "Put some ice on that"
Wonder if he got her vote.

I have long argued that the ballots should be very complex - so no more than half the people can figure out how to cast a vote. That way, only the top 50% would vote and we would get better results.
Of course, I've also argued women shouldn't be allowed to vote...got a cold reception from my Mom & my wife when I made that comment!
At a minimum, we should require that those on the public dole be prohibited, as well as anyone under 25 - the former because they have a bias to vote themselves bigger handouts, and the latter because they don't know enough about how the world works to cast an intelligent vote. We could, I suppose, grant a waiver for any that had held a full time job for 4 years...
Regardless, the idea we should encourage EVRYONE to vote is simply stupid...which is why democrats like it.
