Heck, according to Stephen Bronar, chairman of the University of Texas Economics Department, and John R. Lott Jr., a senior research scholar at the Yale University Law School, there were more registered voters than there were residents eligible to vote in 2000!!!

Their dry comment at the time was that "[People in Philadelphia] apparently take their civic responsibilities seriously..." -- noting that some precincts had 100% turnout with 99% Gore votes.

Other election manipulation is not so direct. Campaign workers complained in court that Democratic voters in the 7th Ward, 14th Division, had been given flyers promising free coffee and doughnuts and a chance at a turkey if they voted. Philadelphia Common Pleas Judge Alan Teresko issued an immediate order commanding the illegal turkey giveaway to stop.

I am looking into being an inspector at one of these precincts this year. Anyone else interested in doing the same?
